CarolM I believe my 4th GG was William Alfred Pettit, b. 17 Mar 1759 Newmarket, Suffolk, England and d. 03 Oct 1798 In Burlington, New Jersey. Is he any connection to this page?
Brandon Hi Carol. Thanks for the message. I believe there is a William Alfred Pettit mentioned on this site as he was responsible for publishing one of the older genealogy books on the Pettit family. However he lived much later the 1759-1798. I am intrigued by the thought that a Pettit came from England to NJ in this time period. Do you have any other info you can share that may help us point you in the right direction? Any good sources connecting him to England and NJ?
